RE: Anybody directly affected by Hurricane Irene?
We are hoping by the time it gets up here to Portland, ME on Sunday night, it has downgraded itself a couple of notches..

RE: Anybody directly affected by Hurricane Irene?
My very elderly grandmother lives just south of Jacksonville. I'm worried about her. She does have family to help her evacuate, but it's so touchy with the very elderly.

RE: Anybody directly affected by Hurricane Irene?
I'm in Reading, PA (an hour west of Philly). We got a bunch of rain and wind, but being a way inland, we misse dout on most of the really bad stuff. We only lost power for about 5 seconds on Sunday morning. No flooding or downed trees or anything for us. But closer to Philly and all throughout NJ there was a lot of flooding and downed trees. This August had already been one of the wettest ever in the Philly region before Irene, so the ground was already pretty saturated. Supposed to be nice and sunny all week now, so hopefully all the flood waters will recede quickly.
