[Just Curious]

I love 'em. But I didn't find a thread on here about them (if there is, let me know ), so...I s'pose I'll start one. What gems have you stumbled across? Favorites/recommends? Awful ones that should be avoided at all costs?

My favorite webcomics are...

Dr. McNinja - It's a webcomic about a doctor who is also a ninja, his 12-year-old gunslinging sidekick Gordito who grew a mustache out of sheer willpower, his gorilla receptionist named Judy (who, incidentally, takes pottery classes and can drive), and his pet velociraptor Yoshi. This is where the famous line "Ninjas can't catch you if you're on fire!" comes from. If you're not convinced yet, there's a storyline in which Bruce Lee teaches Dr. McNinja how to jump from the moon to Earth so Dr. McNinja can escape Dracula's secret moon base, and then he surfs a madly cackling Dracula robot with laser eyes back to Earth. The best webcomic ever.

Hark! A Vagrant! - Very, very funny comics about literature and history. If you like either, read this!

Irregular Webcomic - It's not actually irregular. In fact, it is extremely regular, updating every single day since 2003. It's interesting because the comic takes the form of photos of Lego figurines (and some tabletop gaming figurines), not drawings. There's several separate, simultaneous stories, too, so you don't have to read all 3100+ comics together, you can just choose one storyline to read at a time. (or just start randomly in the middle and read to the end, like I did!) There's a lot of very good math, science, literary, and historical jokes in the strips, and they're all explained in detail in the annotations below the strips, which, quite frankly, manage to explain advanced and complicated mathematical or scientific theories much easier than any teacher I've ever had!

I've got quite a few that I regularly follow, but these are my three favorites.

David's got a great sense of humor. I used to read these regularly and I lost track of it about 3-4 years ago (about the time I got laid off). I really need to get back to it and catch up.

The only ones I read on a regular basis are XKCD and Dilbert. I used to read Calvin and Hobbes, but the app for that broke on my phone and I never bothered finding a new one.

I used to read College Roomies from Hell and Giants in the Playground as well, but lost track of those about the same time I lost Irregular. Oh, and if you like Irregular, you should check out Darths and Droids. A most unique look at Star Wars.

Used to read but they stopped publishing: Dr. Sheep and the Aardvark, Todd and Penguin, Ozy and Millie, Beaver and Steve

Used to read: Real Life Comics (got bored), Schlock Mercenary (too much to catch up on)

I used to read Sinfest, but lost track, and it's too hard to pick it back up.

I'm a thoroughgoing fan of Girl Genius, and I like to read Two Lumps. Then there's my husband's web comic, SpaceTimeFunnies.

My sister will probably kill me for sending you her web comic, but it's REALLY good, and I'm like, "If you don't want people to look at it, then don't put it on the bloody Internet!" Just don't tell her I sent you...
