I read lots of Christian nonfiction and fiction, tons of YA fiction, and definitely the classics, with a few mysteries thrown in there, Agatha Christie and Ellis Peters for example.

But since I was going on vacation, I grabbed some paperback novels to read on the trip. Mary Higgins Clark for me is like eating potato chips - something to do but forgettable. James Patterson (I read 1st to Die ) wasn't anything special.

But now I'm only 20 pages in to a Koontz novel and I'm really, really enjoying it. The characterization and the writing style have both caught my attention.

So did my brain get baked from too much stress on our vacation or is Koontz really a good writer? Opinions?

(Just because something is on a best-seller list doesn't automatically mean their books are good, imo!)

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.
