Apparently Sharper Iron is a euphemism for meeting place for rape apologists.... Watch out Rob, you're getting your Phelps's mixed up. RE: Young Fundamentalist Survey Results
Oops, thanks for the correction. Both get a lot of derision from me.

RE: Young Fundamentalist Survey Results
I'm more curious than anything, but apparently the results of the "survey" will be posted on SI soon.

RE: Young Fundamentalist Survey Results
"Biblical Fundamentalist" sounds to me like an oxymoron.

It means that your young people have no moral compass. It means that your movement is corrupt and decaying before your very eyes. Ouch! It also means that the whole Sharper Iron enterprise has failed. It started out as a way to help Fundamentalism retain young men. I'm guessing those of us who took the last survey would never have mentioned Chuck Phelps as a hero in such large numbers. Most of us have since left Fundamentalism. Those who remain are as you said. |

Who has their Pastor mentioned from the pulpit in the last 30-60-90 days? Do they actually know who they are talking about. Very doubtful. Phelps has been in the news and their M-o-gs have been bandying his name about in the weekly indoctrination sessions. I would suspect that mere name recognition has more to do with it than the odd fanatical sycophant. Either way it presents a complete disconect in fundie land and they are seeing an exodus in the tweens-thirtysomethings. There is nothing for them, no substance, just rote learning of the "Old Paths" indoctrination material. Pathetic portrayal of pitiful pastoring and passé pulpiteering.
