OMG OMG OMG I loved episode 5. I can't believe we're already at the half-way point.

RE: Game of Thrones
Oh yeah. Gore and tatas are a regular design feature of the series. haha. Interestingly, but not surprisingly, equal time is not given to the humble wang. :-P

Oh noes titties! It's actually not a huge part of the series. One site estimated that sex scenes were only 15 minutes out of 10 hours of content.

RE: Game of Thrones
This past Sunday's episode was pretty solid. I read where one guy canceled his subscription to HBO out of disgust. There's a twitter feed called RedWeddingTears devoted to people airing their angst over what happened. I knew what was coming and it still kicked me in the gut.

The fact that the Sun is maize and the sky is blue is neither in our control, nor is something we fraudulently contrived. It just shows that God has excellent taste in colors.

RE: Game of Thrones
I'm almost astonished at the level of ire for GRRM over it. Why hate a man for telling his story the way he wishes to tell it? I was just heartbroken and stunned. And that I get. I've read that he wrote that ending bit last when he wrote A Storm of Swords event though it comes in the middle of the book because it was just so difficult for him to write. I can respect that. That's a writer who has a story I'm willing to see through.

Spoiler:
The fact that Walder Frey had enough of a grudge and little enough honor to violate all the rules of hospitality, particularly during a wedding, to slaughter not just his guest, but his liege lord(s) is just astonishing, even in GRRM's world. Everything about it offends our sense of right and order and justice. But it's a powerful piece of storytelling. And though I am crushed by it, I cannot wait to see how this plays out in Westeros. I also cannot imagine any one solidifying their claim to the Iron Throne and then not utterly destroying the Freys for being the ultimate of treachery. Not even Grey Wind was left alive. That's just brutal. Brutal. I also have to say that I greatly admire GRRM's ability to gut us over characters who are arguably not ones who claim the most emotional attachment.

Also, AV Club has a really good article on it.
