RE: M*A*S*H
MASH was fun. I remember watching when I was a kid, and then a few years ago one station was showing it after baseball games*.

I think I liked the later episodes better, but I'm not sure. I remember them better. Honestly, though, I'm not sure if I liked Frank or Charles better. I definitely like Col Potter better than the other guy (drawing a blank).

I think my favorite character was Radar. As a kid, he was the one I could relate to the most, and as an adult, I see his response to war as closest to what ours should be.

My favorite episode was when Margaret and Hawkeye's jeep broke down and they spent the night in the ruins and were bombed and such. It was neat to see their underlying friendship surface in the pressure.

OK, yeah, I just realized what a sap I am. Wink

*- I generally work on the computer while watching baseball. With the 8 second rewind of DirectTV, I can listen to the announcers and rewind quickly if anything happens worth watching. Then I can fast forward through commercials. Problem is, if I get into something on the computer and can't get to a stopping place, I end up watching whatever is on afterwards. I'm trying to finish so I don't want to channel surf for something better. MASH was great, because it was decent to watch but didn't distract me too much.

My favorite seasons are the ones with Potter and Hunnicutt as well as Frank Burns (Seasons 4&5, I think??). The shows were really well-written and the actors had great chemistry. Some of the later episodes were really preachy and got repetitive. How many "old buddies" did Potter have to humiliate because of their incompetence?

My favorite episode is the one where the Chinese doctor asks the MASH doctors to treat some wounded American soldiers the Chinese had captured.

I dare not fix with mete and bound The love and power of God. - J.G. Whittier

I liked the earlier ones better. My favorite episode of all time is called Big Mac. Below is a copy-and-paste of the plot line from tvland:

Big Mac
Episode: 069 | Aired: February 25, 1975

General MacArthur is coming to the 4077th! Its an honor. A privilege. Validation. Just as the legendary leader rolls through camp, Klinger appears as the Statue of Liberty. MacArthur salutes!

"suicide is painless" - the best part of the whole show is the theme song

"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side"

My husband is a huge M*A*S*H fan and knows every little detail about the show. It is really the only show he cares(d) about.
