RE: Is Wikipedia reliable?
A challenge:
Try to edit Abraham Lincoln’s bio on Wikipedia. Change his birth date to 1997 and see how long the information stays up. If Wikipedia is as “easy” to edit as everyone is saying, I challenge someone to attempt this. Edit Wiki with this info and take a screenshot of it. I am in no way saying that Wiki is the be-all end-all, but for a quick overview, it’s pretty legit. Plus it will let you [via hyperlinked text] explore other players/info related to the subject you are interested in. Aside: Has anyone played the “Wikipedia Game?” basically everyone needs to be on a computer, a subject is chosen as a starting point, a specific subject is chosen as the final destination, and only using hyperlinks in Wiki, each person tries to get to the final page first. I teach in a computer lab, and if students finish an assignment early, it’s fun to play! Shoes have come a long way from their humble beginnings as simple leather moccasins. Today footwear is built to withstand any extreme environment where a foot can tread -- from the heart of a burning building to the track of an Olympic stadium ~Scorps |
