Are they something similar to this case or about his integrity? I also saw several posts on SI from mods saying they might lock the thread because (and I paraphrase) people are just rehashing the same ol' things, nothing new is being said, etc. I highly doubt they would do that if Willis were vindicated (or Phelps for that matter). The wagons are circling. |

RE: Ernie Willis: Guilty
I couldn't believe Christine Leaf would testify against her own daughter (and hence, in favor of the criminal) just because her she had the resentment of her daughter's disrespect and mistreatment during those years. I hope she's ashamed of herself now.

RE: Ernie Willis: Guilty
I've tossed some of this (and given links to the major news sources) to a SBC pastor who has also been a lawyer with an earned (!) Juris doctorate. Just wanted his take on the "clergy/congregant privilege" business, the church discipline, and the possibility of an obstruction of justice charge anywhere in this.
Here's his blog: http://fromlaw2grace.com/ Hopefully he'll look into it and give me his opinion sometime after the holiday weekend. A steady diet of Hellfire and brimstone will only give you Spiritual gas and indigestion... from Mark Moore as posted on Facebook |

RE: Ernie Willis: Guilty
I saw the SI posts before they were deleted. Someone hinted that Chuckie Poo had lied to the board at MBBC and his leaving was less than honorable. It didn't take too long before the posts were deleted. SI is deleting other posts, too. Posts that question Chuckie Poo's fitness for ministry don't stay up to long.
Christine Leaf has no shame. She proved that a long time ago by making her children live with a man who physically abused both of her children and sexually abused her daughter. She's a selfish narcissist who cares only for herself. |

She strikes me as more codependent than narcissistic. But I suppose codependency is a form of self-absorbtion in a different way.

I saw these posts also and someone challenged the person who said it. The person challenged said that he could substantiate what he said. I hope that he does. I had also seen something Louise Dan had posted calling Chuck Phelps to apologize to Tina but spent quite a bit of time looking for it on SI. I finally retrieved and posted below is what she said. I highly admire Louise Dan and her courage to stand up for what is right. I've seen some vicious attacks on her for standing up for what is right. Louise Dan Offline Member Joined: 04/17/2010 Posts: 156 Chuck Phelps is a piece of work Forgive me if I sound sarcastic or snide, but Chuck Phelps just admitted in court from the notes he made of his interview with Ernie Willis in 1997 that Willis told Phelps that he "had been the aggressor" with Tina Anderson. Could we not all agree to rise up in righteous defense and exoneration of this girl? Can we not all publicly say here how very sorry we were to question the truthfulness of her allegations? To debate whether she had some accountability? And can we not all agree to call Chuck Phelps and his defenders to repent of their sin? And would the Chuck Phelps defenders please turn around and walk with Phelps to a public microphone somewhere and stand with him while he publicly apologizes to Tina? If you really care about Chuck Phelps, that will be your response. To support him AS HE REPENTS. |

That is because Jocelyn is pretty good at proving how cultish the IFB really is, and they don't like that.

RE: Ernie Willis: Guilty
Kudos to Tina and to those who supported her. Now, is anybody going to investigate who else Willis may have messed around with while he was at that church? Child rapists don't usually stop with one child. I hope and pray that somebody is following up on this. Maybe people who have children the same age as Tina who were also in Trinity at that time will take the time to ask their kids, "Did anything ever happen to you?" There just HAVE to be more victims out there.
