Which brings up an interesting question...how many others never learned to swim until adulthood? It could be because of mixed bathing restrictions, clothing, whatever. In my case, it was a mother deathly afraid of water.

I didn't get into fundyism until after my parents divorced when I was 8. Prior to that, I lived a pretty normal life except for the the fighting and alcoholism that was in my house prior to the divorce. Therefore, my parents were normal about the swimming thing and paid for me to take swimming lessons when I was 5 or 6.

I still don't know how to swim. Confused

But, back to the topic at hand...

Would this work for modesty?

RE: Swimming Modestly
Everytime I go "swimming" all I end up doing is getting re-baptized ten or twelve times until I have visions of glory and that's when I know to get out of the water.

If I try and go swimming at the beach then I have to put up with all those nuts from Greenpeace throwing buckets of water on me and yelling, "Get him back in the water to his Pod!"

Without fail there is always some peg-legged old coot who ends up chasing me down the beach with a harpoon, screaming, "There she blows! A hump like a snow hill!”
