Music for the End of the World
On another thread, I asked what songs you'd play at an End of the World Party. These were some of the songs listed. Feel free to add more if you know some that would fit the theme or post some links.
"It's the End of the World as We Know It" 1999 by Prince The Misfits - "Astro Zombies" The Turtles - "Eve of Destruction" Metallica -"The Four Horsemen" "Waiting for the End of the World" by Elvis Costello We'll Make Great Pets by Porno For Pyros. (Not end of the world exactly but alien take-over is pretty rotten) "If" "If the world should stop revolving spinning slowy down to die, I'd spend the end with you, and when the world was through, Then one by one the stars would all go out, then you and I would simply fly away.." I knew it wasn't Biblical but I always thought it was sad and beautiful. "I Will Follow You into the Dark" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raZOIchHFiw&feature=fvst "Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

RE: Music for the End of the World
This takes a different approach but it reminds me of one world ending and a new one beginning: "Waiting for the World to Fall" by Jars of Clay
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjOpDQqW910 "Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

RE: Music for the End of the World
NPR has apparantly already asked this question. There are over 1,000 comments with song ideas on this link:
http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2011/0...=1&f=10001 I'd still like to hear any favorites we here at SFL have though. "Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

Yet another list. This one links to all the songs and lists a special "doomed line": http://www.spinner.com/2011/05/20/end-of...day-songs/
This one by Johnny Cash is directly about the end of the world based on Revelations - "When the Man Comes Around" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9IfHDi-2...re=related "Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

I just wanted to have a list somewhere, and just kept coming up with more. "Do not look so sad.
