RE: Favorite Beer?
I haven't found one single beer that I like. Blush

I don't know why but every single one was more nasty than dry wine! Smile

Try a good milk stout. It has a slight sweetness to it, and a creamy texture. You might like it a lot. That's what got me to really start appreciating beer. Now I like more styles.

When I was in college, I tried some kool-aid, but I didn't like it, and I didn't swallow.

What are some brands to look for that make it like that? Is that what the type of beer is actually called or am I looking for another name?

"Milk stout" or "cream stout" are the phrases you are looking for. Many producers make this style. Go to one of the big beer/wine stores that sells a lot of craft beers, and you should find several brands.

ETA: Oatmeal stout is excellent, too.

No, we haven't yet discussed your weekend indiscretions. Wink

Sam Summer is meh to me. I mean, I'd rather drink it than Bud Light, but that's about as far as it goes.

My favorite discovery last summer was Smuttynose's Summer Weizen. So far this year, 312 Urban Wheat Ale from Goose Island is a good summer beverage.

See, I would go the other way - like a Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat, or their Honkers Ale. (These are recent discoveries for me cause they apparently just now expanded into NH.) Those go down very easily.

The main reason I recommended the milk stout is for the relative sweetness compared to a lot of other styles, since xOBC mentioned most beers being "more nasty than dry wine." It seems that probably the dry-ness or maybe bitterness was the turnoff. I don't disgree with your recommendations at all, though. I might look for those here in SC for myself. We'll see if they happen to have 'em here.

Had a homebrewed imperial stout with honey used in place of sugar. Delicious!

My absolute favorite is Seafarers Ale, a Fuller's product.

Magner's Irish cider is also very good.
