RE: Christian Films
Did anyone see "The Edge of the Spear?" Was it any good?

Yeah that's the movie. Nope wasn't the director. Was editor and many other titles Smile

RE: Christian Films
@elfdream, I heard "Edge of the Spear" was good, although many were disappointed that their purpose in being missionaries - to spread the Gospel - was muted. I appreciate films that SHOW instead of TELL which apparantly this film tried to do. However, from the reviews I've read, it sounds like it was a little TOO vague in not mentioning the name Jesus, etc. I heard it was very well filmed though.

RE: Christian Films
The wife really enjoyed "Like Dandelion Dust" - of course she is addicted to reading stuff by Karen Kingsbury so...

I thought it was pretty well done, it was much better than what I expect in a Christian film. End of the Spear was good, I have seen Pendragon too, obviously not professionally acted, but if you research how it was made and for how much, it was pretty amazing what they were able to put together. I thought overall the themes and characters were well executed, and just wandered into preaching a little bit.

Oh, my wife loves the "Love comes softly" series by Michael Landale based on the books by Janette Oak. I thought they were actually pretty well made too (I like westerns). Some decent actors in them as well to lend them some credibility. The first and second were pretty good. I bought her all six on DVD.

RE: Christian Films
The books were ok-they were along the lines of Little House on the Praire- but the movies did not follow the books at all! The first one did but after that they went off into story lines and plots that I did not recognize. If you had never read the books I suppose they would have been ok but if you read the books you probably would have been confused.

I liked the Sarah Plain and Tall series....not Christian as such but decent watching for the family. My mom enjoyed them.

RE: Christian Films
Not really a Janette Oke fan. I've read at least 12 of her books, although I really only liked book 1 in the Canadian West series. I haven't seen any of the movies but my daughter has watched them and enjoyed them.

(Why did I read her books if I didn't like them? Well, it was many years ago, and the books were popular so I kept trying to get into them.)
