Another Fundy Pastor caught

I heard this on the news this am. I didn't want to assume they were IFB since IFB hates being labeled that way. But my husband looked up the church, sure enough. Fundy.

I don't like those kinds of comments (Scott on that page), but it's really hard to dispute the despicable-ness (IDK what that word would be) of child predators. Hard to imagine a newspaper/TV station would mention that fact if it wasn't pretty nailed down. If they did they're about as bad as a child predator to cast that kind of shadow on a suicide victim & family.

We had a local news story here recently about a pastor at some rural church having sex with teenage girls. I wondered if the 20/20 episode has encouraged some victims to come forward. I looked at the church website, but it was so primitive that it didn't really tell me anything about the church. Regardless of whether it's a fundy church or not, this kind of abuse of power by ANY religious leader is repulsive. How sad it is that these stories are so common, and even sadder than so many probably go unreported at all.

I looked up the church and the pastor on the military get saved church locator (Fundamentalisty only, for sure, and IFB only, as far as I know) and Trinity Baptist Fellowship pastored by Nick Minerva is listed there as KJB.

My guess is that his state of mind didn't get suicidal until he knew he was caught. And then it happened within minutes.

I just listened to him talk for 20 minutes from a sermon on April 10th about the judgment and terror of the Lord. (Then he handcuffed someone on the platform as an illustration.)

I guess he must not have really put much stock in it.
