the lady on the right is wearing the same culottes in blue. Mine are green, and are worn with the tan shirt. She's wearing the navy culottes with a yellow shirt.

RE: Culottes
I've been in Scouting for years and while I have seen the 'skirt' I don't think I have ever seen anyone wearing the culottes.

My mom used to wear them. My dad said they were the ugliest things he had ever seen. Smile

I used to wear a kind of skirt/shorts things that had wider legs than shorts but at the same time were NOT culottes. They weren't a split skirt either. For the life of me I can't remember where they came from. They were comfortable and modest but I didn't stand out in a crowd when I wore them.

you, the mirror of my life renewed,
let me find my life in you.~St. Augustine

no one else in my council wears them. I found them at the Salvation Army, but they're official uniform culottes, and I wear them regularly. I don't care, lol.

RE: Culottes
Culottes are IMMODEST. I remember being asked to stay off of the swing set when there were boys around because apparently we were flashing everyone when the wind blew our culottes and they flew up to our underwear.

when I was a student at PCC, we wore the most ridiculously immodest culottes for the PE classes--white and billowy. even standing still they were immodest because they were white (so your underwear showed) and running? it was like two parachutes around my thighs. some serious exposure (not to mention the significant slowing-down because of wearing two parachutes around my thighs.)

ah "good" times. "go-o-o-od" times.

RE: Culottes
Back in 1986, PCC was one of the colleges I was considering, and one of the major points against them was the couple minutes on the tour that I spent in their gymnasium watching a girls' gym class with the girls running about all in white with those goofy, billowing white culottes. I hated culottes anyway, but WHITE? Shades of Great Aunt Gertrude, why would people do that? (I ended up at BJU, where you could wear sweat pants to gym.)

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

Amen, Sister! Culottes were invented by men hoping to catch a flash while duping women into believing they were being modest. Also, every pair I've ever seen tends to accentuate the top of the woman's butt before dropping off into a shapeless blah.

RE: Culottes
How old were you when you were on the swing? Why would anyone be interested in a little girls panties?

RE: Culottes
Our pastor's 4 year old is terrified that someone will see her panties. Rolleyes She was appalled that my 6 year old daughter was jumping around b/c my son might see his sister's panties. I nipped that in the bud! I told the 4 year old that everyone wears panties, so who cares? I pulled up my daughter's dress to show PK that my daughter was wearing shorts underneath anyway. I buy a few pair of shorts for my daughter who loves to wear dresses for playing outside so she can be as active as she wants.

Both my kids run around the house all day in their undies anyway.
