I give Hidalgo until the end of the week to get over his tantrum and start up again. This has been a very good attention-getting stunt to increase his blog hits though. I got 500 in just one day, so I am sure his will go through the proverbial roof, just as he planned it. I got played and so did you. Call me cynical. Off the record, on the QT and very hush-hush |

It is always good to get a lesson from the experts, and we all know you are an expert in intolerance. For the record, however, I am not intolerant of Hidalgo or his blog, other than in my own personal reading time. I don't go there; I won't grant him the privilege of a "count" for my "click". He is an internet troll and I have learned the lesson that you don't feed the trolls. (Although whether I have learned is debatable since I'm replying to you.) I was replying to the fact that Hidalgo's blog was given credence as someone who "calls them like he sees them". I hold a strongly different opinion. I'd suggest you do some research on what "intolerant" means. Mr. Hidalgo can blog to his happy content and I don't give two ounces of concern. However, I do have an opinion of the quality of his work and my suspicions of his purposes. That's not intolerant; that's just opinion. Intolerance is... Awww hell, go do your own research. You can start with the dictionary and then move on to any number of your previous posts. "(1) Paul, Wikipedia expert, 06.10.2011" - Shoes Paul 4 Prez |

If others can get you to default to making imbecilic and violent threats, then it's time to stop being so stupid and violent. I didn't like what Greg was doing, and I said so on his blog. But the threats of violence were just, well, stupid and violent. If people can "play" you that easily, then stop being so easily played. Your being snippy with everyone for trying to tell you this isn't helping either. FFS, it's like watching a temper tantrum. use of copyrighted works in parody are always considered fair use as long as they are used to comment on the author's works. don't waste your money on a lawsuit. You would lose. No matter what license you claim. SFL would be in trouble if you were right on this one. "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side" |

RE: Hidalgo Grain Company Taken Down
I am still having a difficult time getting my head around how so many of you view this thing.
Maybe it's because I spent 22 years on the mean streets of my city battling vicious bullies and have seen the aftermath of their destructive ways. Many do threaten and don't follow through, but the victim can never be completely sure. I was the one that had to respond when they did carry through. Have any of you ever tried to explain to a 4 yr old boy and his older sister why their daddy killed their puppy? (to keep their mother in line) Have any of you ever walked into the basement and found a 12 yr old swinging by their neck, because they couldn't face one more day dealing with bullies at their school. This last example is especially poignant and occurred right up the street from my house, a young boy 14, picked on and abused, finally had enough, and stuck a .22 pistol in his mouth and pulled the trigger, I was the first officer on scene, I found a grief stricken father, blood all over his clothes and face from trying to resurrect his dead son. I knew this boy, not only because he was a neighborhood kid, but I knew he was having problems and had tried to act as an older brother to him. Suffice it to say I hate bullies. But let's examine what some of our SFL folks think about it. These all came after Wandering traveller said "threats like this are still inappropriate." (I think for the 2nd time) DD doesn't owe us any apology, also hopes DD is able to get this straightened out (How about telling her to quit terrorizing people, there were kids in this family) also same writer "I doubt he felt threatened" ahh, ok, well then that makes it alright then. One writer apparently thinks that just because they were able to easily find said victim's address on the internet, that makes DD's disseminating that information to the world via her blog just fine! One open-minded writer says "I dislike thuggery no matter who does it" well that sounds good, but then goes on to list DD, Hidalgo and others, but funny thing is, there was only one of these persons threatening folks with physical violence, and handing out personal information, like addressses, workplaces, children etc. Some try to make it all funny. One enlightened writer to DD. "If Hidalgo had said he was sending bikers to your house I would say that was wrong too" (of course that's not what happened, is it?) "Although I think you would have laughed at him." (So because she laughs at terroristic threats to her and her family, everyone should think terrorist threats are funny!) Now we get to the real fundy part of the story: "The horse is dead, let it rest in peace." "Just a tempest in a teapot, everything will be back to normal shortly" Just like Chuck Phelps sending Tina Anderson several states away to have her baby. A baby that was the result of a church deacon raping her. I am not for one minute sorry for hammering this vicious terrorist. Call me anything you will. A man and his family were victimized, and threatened in a very public way. I hope he and his family can find a safe place, both physically and emotionally, this may leave scars on the children for a lifetime. I hate bullies! The good news is that Christ died for all of you........not just some of you! |

Yeah ... I also said the threats were inappropriate no matter which way you look at it. But you conveniently -- oh, so conveniently -- overlooked that.
And you know what, you may have seen the aftermath of violence. Some of us lived it. I have ptsd thanks to surviving violence. So go sell your ignorance elsewhere. |
