It appears that fundys aren't the only ones who don't like to hear dissent

I know code can detect all that, but I kind of doubt that such a large site would make content so browser specific. More often than not, it's a server issue somewhere, no?

And the statement in the subject of this thread is immediately proven in one simple post.

Fine. In context, I wasn't talking about all conservatives, just the militant ones a la Westboro Baptist Church.

I'm not a fan of the militant leftist people either.

May I now point out the line in my signature as being pointed directly to you just this one time? Rolleyes

The larger and more popular the site, the more likely you are to find platform-specific media handlers, because they have the money and resources to develop it. For news outlets like CNN, ABCNews, and probably even Breitbart, it's practically a necessity to develop different ways to deliver information efficiently over many types of platforms, OS and browsers, and, growingly (if that's a word) devices.

It's simple code to find out the OS and browser, it's simple code to redirect based on that data. It's not that hard to duplicate media content with OS specific handlers. If the cross-platform options are inferior (as they sometimes are), why not create better media content that is OS specific?

Since HTML5 simplifies the way media is presented, it is getting easier to call more specific scripts in development.

I didn't see anything in the address to suggest it was OS specific, though.

I guess, but still, that's a browser issue. If I installed Safari would that be tons different than if it were on a Mac?

Safari for Windows <> Safari for Mac (just like IE for Mac was waaaaay different than IE for Windows).

Love how the thread about gays and marriage has been derailed by computer programming talk that I know absolutely NOTHING about.

Why the bullying T-shirt image? Perfect example of just shouting down the opposition in order to silence them into submission. Why must you resort to name calling with someone who disagrees with you?

This forum is has a few "crazies" on it who like to try and shut down differing political views.

They also have a lot of IFB baggage they haven't shed and they still act like many IFB pastors who bully, intimidate, and manipulate. They don't bother me and I won't let them shut me up.

They don't like the first amendment. It only applies to THEM.

Youtube is owned by Google and they are pretty much in bed with Obama. Google is going to get a reckoning very soon b/c Obama is hell bent on passing SOPA and other laws that are going to stifle the last bastion of freedom in America, the internet.

It doesn't seem to be. Her handle is @m_mcaulay.

I watched the video. Eh. I think YouTube pulling it for violating their hate speech clause was probably an over-reaction. On the other hand, I'll wager that flagging any threatening or crude video responses will likely result in those being pulled as well. YouTube is terrible about policing comments (and YouTube commenters are often as scummy as Yahoo! News commenters), but they usually pull videos no problem. They're pretty consistent with over-reaction pulls, frankly.

My reaction to the video? She comes across as both well-spoken and very condescending to those she disagrees with. But that's no big deal. I will say, I'm really tired of the "Get America back on the path of following the Bible" spiel. People need real history lessons, not the conservative textbook/homeschool style of history lessons. /remove spoon from stirred pot.

Do you know if she was homeschooled?

I went to public school in the eighties and I came to the same conclusion she did. I went to an IFB church a few times, but other than that, I was unchurched. I made up my own mind by studying history, our Founding Fathers and our Founding Documents.
