But as far as Freeway Baptist in Phoenix AZ write ICHABOD across the doors!!! How hard it must be to watch people who you used to like and even respect mindlessly and blindly follow after a golden calf. They have been suckered and it is sad. May God open their eyes and bring them to repentance. I said it earlier and I will say it again: I hope your husband is eventually involved in church leadership elsewhere. Brave elders with intact spines who follow God and do not bow to man are worth their weight in gold. |

RE: should Mark Chappell an Admitted Molester still be a Pastor
I also want to thank the one deacon who was not afraid to stand up FOR THE TRUTH at Freeway Baptist in Arizona. You will find that men like Mark Chappell and his father are very adept at "twisting" Scripture, as well as anything that is said against them. They are very adept at manipulating people. Also very adept at "hiding the truth" as evidenced in their former churches.
We continue to pray for the women who are STILL in counselling in CT. that were in Mark Chappell's youth group. We pray for all the other women and children who were violated. May God help those who stand for the truth, and open the eyes of those who are still blinded!!!!!!! |

RE: should Mark Chappell an Admitted Molester still be a Pastor
Well, the posts on Topix have been deleted again. Trying very hard to keep the "truth" from getting out regarding Mark's history at the church in Connecticut, also in Long Beach, and now in Phoenix, Arizona.
Can the deacons in Arizona PROVE that the allegations made against Mark are false?????? I'd like to see them even try. Instead they just take Mark's word for it. Why not get out and check things out for yourself, like the one deacon who stood for the truth did. Think if you will make some calls on your own and check things out you will find much more information that you need to know in order for the "whole truth" to get out. |

|Report Abuse |Judge it! |#2 Saturday May 26 Email from current pastor at Heritage Baptist Church Dear Brother xxxxxxx I am deeply grieved with the situation you are currently dealing with concerning Mark Chappell. I have only been the pastor here since 1998. As I mentioned to the other man from your church, I have had the sad duty to counsel with two of the teen girls, who are now grown and married, who were affected by the abuse. As of 5 years ago, the one lady was still cutting her arms with a razor as a result of the deeper wounds the abuse inflicted upon her. The former pastor was a close friend of Mark's father. It appears that in an effort to be kind to his friend, they decided to hush up the matter rather than deal with it properly. I am not even sure what the legal requirements were in 1989. Sadly, I inherited the mess that the former pastor left behind in his wake as he too had some issues with a secretary. Most of the people from that era are gone. As far as I can ascertain, the church in general was kept in the dark about the extent of the abuse and were told to trust the pastor which they did. There do not seem to be any written records of the matter in any of the minutes of the church or in any other file. I am not sure if any of the family members involved would be willing to talk about it. The parents of the one young lady have both passed away and the father of the other is so very private that I doubt if he will talk. Those two are the only ones that I have direct knowledge of. I am praying for the Lord's wisdom for you and your church. I have spent the past 14 years picking up the pieces and I have seen the Lord's grace and mercy at work in rebuilding His church here. If you would like to call me, my cell phone number is xxxxxxxxx In His Care, Pastor Thomas E. Bish |

Your husband did his due diligence as a deacon at Freeway Baptist by trying to warn the church about the truth about Mark Chappell that he researched and investigated. Your husband interviewed credible witnesses with first hand knowledge of Mark's sexual preditory habits/sins. Based upon Mark's history, it would indicate a pattern of unrepentant habitual sin that follows him from every church he has pastored in. |

Yes that is my prayer that his vicitms will come forward. We did what we should. God will not be mocked. I heard him say he prayed and fasted about becoming pastor here at Freeway. We spoke with several pastors here will visiting churches and the response we got is Really??? The Bible is clear on the requirements of a Pastor what was he praying and fasting for? Did he think God was going to rewrite the Bible for him? That's like praying if I should kill someone, duh alrealy know the answer for that!!! Wow that makes sense!!!

RE: should Mark Chappell an Admitted Molester still be a Pastor
Hello. My name is Anthony DeVoe. My username and email are legitimate and I have nothing to hide here.
My mother has attended Freeway Baptish Church for the last seven or eight years. I've found Mark Chappell to be a vile human being even before I knew of these ghosts from his past. I will refrain from venting my personal issues with him at this time, but may elaborate on them later. I feel this case is much more important to discuss though. I don't believe the church members are being given any of the legitimate information. The few people I've informed were shocked. I'd like to get this information to them, but in all my searches online the information is very scattered and varying in facts. I've got a few pieces of solid evidence that I will keep to myself for now, but what I'd like to do is this... I'd like to get a packet of information together and go to the church on some random day and hand it out to the people. I am local in Phoenix, so it won't be an issue to make that happen. I have other plans of action at play, but I don't really want to discuss them openly as to give him any chance to stop me. I've already emailed him personally and told him that I'll do what it takes to expose him. While I am certain that what I have already is enough to open people's eyes to who he is, I would like to gather more solid info before doing this. He has political powers supporting him (Trent Franks, Arizona Congressman) and a legal service that deals with internet content suppression and legal things of the sort. I will get kicked back. Personally, I don't care... I would rather spend my days chasing my tail then knowing about such a vile man and not saying anything as he continues to mentor children and families about how they should live their life... When clearly, he is not a man of God as I know Him to be. Please email me or respond publicly or anything. Advice, information, anything to help keep this man from ruining another family. He didn't physically rape anybody in my family that I'm aware of, but he's torn it to pieces, and I don't want that to happen to anybody else. Thank you. Anthony DeVoe tonydevoe2@gmail.com |
