I have lots of problems with homosexual marriage (nothing gay about it) so does all of America, not one state has voted in this wicked lifestyle, not one! That's what I've been hearing for the past 43 years by people who want to misuse the Bible to condemn people who are gay. They use those passages to marginalize and condemn people. The reason this is pointed out is that people pound their fist and say "thus saith the LORD" and condemn using those verses. There's LOTS of picking and choosing.

The next thing we'll hear is how it's Paul in the New Testament. Paul was first of all, like all of us, a product of his environment. Secondly, he was a human with his own prejudices and those came from the teaching of the day.

What did Jesus say about homosexuality?

I believe that gender and orientation are a matter of innate tendencies and biology.

Even if I were to believe it were sinful, does it rank beyond other sins? Like the unparalleled greed we now see in our nation?

And Bob M, for you to imply that people who advocate for civil rights are not Christians...smh...

In middle eastern cultures man vs boy is the norm. Women are used for procreation and boys for recreation.

Like I said before, I'm more partial to marriage being relegated to the church. Have states recognize civil unions between any two consenting adults as long as everyone has equal opportunity. While its not my cup of tea, I think that if you're going to step outside the traditional non-relative male/female dynamic then it should be anyone, including heterosexual, homosexual, poligamous, and close relatives. Animals and kids are still right out since they can't give legal consent. I still feel kinda weird about this viewpoint as it is my most liberal by far but I see it as the only way to be fair.

Who gets married and where and why is the business of just those two people and I'm glad Obama has got enough guts and common sense to not only recognize this but actually state it out loud. Gay marriage is no different from straight marriage, both feature two people who care about each other and want to spend their lives together.
