Homosexual Marriage

RE: Homosexual Marriage
Greg, we all know where you stand.
Truth is, twelve years ago I was a cheerleader for the family council and all that crap.

Today I have zero problem with gay marriage. I view it as a civil rights issue.

We could just get back to all of those old paths Bible institutions...Like slavery, stoning people to death, and not mixing the different kinds of cloth...

Love the way you folks pick and choose your scriptures, always go back to ancient Jewish law.

I have lots of problems with homosexual marriage (nothing gay about it) so does all of America, not one state has voted in this wicked lifestyle, not one! So your opinion may be real popular here on SFL, but the vast majority of Americans side with me! By the way it's not me you have to worry about.

The good news is that Christ died for all of you........not just some of you!

No, not ALL of America. Baby Boomers. And I could say a few words about them, but I won't.

Right. Like insisting on using a totally irrelevant passage that has NOTHING to do with Gay marriage.

Greg, I thought you loved and respected Scripture. Why do you insist on abusing it like this?

If you were using the S&G passage to condemn Gay gang rape I would totally agree with you.

For every difficult and complicated question there is an answer that is simple, easily understood and wrong." H.L. Mencken

Greg, Don't mistake SFL for a Christian forum.

RE: Homosexual Marriage
Outside of ancient Jewish law, the bible never authorised Christians to set the laws for how the wider community should behave. We are not here to legally penalise those groups we disagree with.

RE: Homosexual Marriage
I know I'm going to sound like a broken record Tiarali, but people are fond of passing laws that infringe on others all the time- as long as it's a law they're in favor of. And it's not just people passing laws against homosexual marriage. People on the left and the right infringe on every one else all the time. Almost all laws have some morality or ethics involved. That's why laws should be exceedingly few.

Um, what about Washington, Iowa, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Maryland? [http://www.nationaljournal.com/politics/map-where-is-same-sex-marriage-legal--20120309]

RE: Homosexual Marriage
Yes. What I mean is, it's not "Christian" to vote against gay marriage, and it's not "Christian" to vote for it, either. Christians do not have a special responsibility to make the laws fit their beliefs, and they are not acting like poor christians if they allow others a greater freedom than they would personally choose to experience.
