Is one of the guest speakers at my old fundy church's Pastor Refresher School in August, along with Dr. Paul Chappell. The theme of the meetings is church health - I'm pretty sure that the choice of speakers says something about that church's health, especially when you take into account that Dr. Robert Bakss is there as well.

And on that note, the church's youth conference is on in a couple of weeks. I'm thinking of watching the services and giving a commentary here. The Lighthouse is trying to be one of the leading fundamentalist churches in Australia, if not the leading church (hence the pastor's refresher school), so I would like an eye kept on it.

I wonder if they'll mention persecution? lol... They keep using that word. I do not think it means what they think it means.

Actually, I know David Gibbs has a long track record of defending pedophiles in the ministry. Does anyone have any good links to news articles or anything about him? I would like to send a letter to the local newspaper and find out if they are interested.

David Gibbs defended Bob Gray (Jacksonville) who died before his trial for molesting a dozen or so first-through-third grade girls.

and, you know. bad guys deserve lawyers. Criminals deserve defense attorneys who will protect them to the best of their ability. That's a key part of our system. I don't fault Mr. Gibbs for being a defense lawyer.

I fault him for calling it a ministry.

I don't see why a man who makes his living out of defending serial pedophiles while working as pastors would have any legitimate reason to come to Australia to talk to a pastor's conference.

kinda makes me wonder if your old church is going to seek his advice in how to handle your ex's and the school's situation...

in other ponderings, how has the fat guy not had a heart-attack yet?

David Gibb's degree is Juris Doctor. Technically, I guess he has an honest claim to an accredited doctor's degree.

In reality, no attorney I know calls themselves "doctor."
