As far as I'm aware, the tithe in the old testament was only on farming produce. Ask him where the Oakley tree is

You should have taken them off right then and waved them toward heaven. That is a wave offering. You are thanking God for the increase without having to give the M-O-g his percentage.

Then I would ask what the figures were that the church where this so-called tithe is supposed to go, is spending each month on widows and orphans?? How much is spent each month on the poor? How much is spent each month on clothing for those in need? How much is spent on food for the hungry? The tithe doctrine just irks me. Look at the budget and then give me chapter and verse for those expenditures.
Building and grounds $$$$,
Salaries $$$$$$$$,
Utilities $$$$,
Supplies $$$$,
Love offerings to pastors-errant $$$$$$$$$.
The poor 0$
Widows 0$
The hungry 0$

I've never understood how "increase" = "gross". It would seem that increase would always = "net". Doesn't belong in this thread, I know.

I think you should also tithe on really heavy bowel movements as they are also an "increase" from usual.
