Homosexuality, and all the above are immoral behaviours.

Someone once said "you can't legislate morality" I submit that is the only thing that can be legislated.

You forgot: Holding people in jail indefinitely, without charging them of any crime.
You forgot: Invading other countries under false pretenses.
You forgot: Stealing the land from Native Americans.
You forgot: Forcing countries smaller than us to sign trade agreements with us that are clearly NOT in their best interests, so our companies have an unfair advantage even in their countries.

I don't think this country would sign the Geneva Convention on war prisoners if it came up to a vote today.

For every difficult and complicated question there is an answer that is simple, easily understood and wrong." H.L. Mencken

"I'll kidnap a thousand children before I let this company die!" Except in this situation, it's not kidnapping children, it's trampling the entire judicial and legislative structure of the country. And you're not trying to keep a company alive, you're trying to impose your morality on everyone else. And don't say you're not and everyone still has a choice. . . A choice between "agreeing with me or being wrong" isn't a real choice.

I cannot see how any conscientious American could knowingly say something like you just did. That was the mentality that led to every regime of tyranny in the history of mankind: the belief that since one is right, he can use any means he can to impose his "right" upon others.

And yet again we have someone who, although he would probably never use the word, is pushing for a theocracy. Where all of the laws are firmly based in Christianity and what the Bible says (or at least the Head Honcho's interpretation of the Bible) is the law of the land. Sounds great. More power to you. One thing, though, could you start your theocracy somewhere else? I'm kinda living in a little place I like to call the "Land of the Free." And I would prefer it stay free for all, regardless of belief. I understand that you don't agree, but then again I don't expect you to.

I do need to thank you, though, for your reply. I wouldn't have been nearly forward enough to insinuate that you actually didn't care about freedom for anyone except yourself and those exactly like you, so I'm extremely grateful that you did it for me.

Cheers.

We should probably all stand and sing the National Anthem after that!!Tongue

Millions upon millions of murdered boys and girls certainly wish it would have been me imposing my will on them, instead of some wretched, wicked, liberal judges!

Well then. I said much of that to demonstrate the logical next step in your thinking and just show how flawed and horrible it is. And you agreed with it. I have no words.

"When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams, this may be madness. To seek treasure where there is only trash -- Too much sanity may be madness! And maddest of all, to see life as it is, and not as it should be!" ~Man of La Mancha

Greg, I do understand your position, and you know I disagree with it. But my issue with your original post was not homosexuality, but that you stated it as though you were offended that the will of the people had been overturned. That was a safer way to go because it sounds so much like tyranny of the judicial system. When in fact, you only cared about the will of the people because that will agreed with your position. As you've admitted to in subsequent posts. I'm really tired of hearing conservatives (especially) decry "legislating from the bench" when a judicial decision goes against them, but trumpeting the protecting of our freedoms when the decision is in their favor. And yes, there are many liberal hypocrisies as well, but this particular one bugs me.

You flip from one argument to the next, one idea to another, with reckless abandon.
Beastiality<> homosexuality <>liberals<> polygamy<> abortion <>court systems

dude, you make my head spin
