During the weekend, we'll go to the range, be lazy, do the cleaning that built up during the week, work on training our 10-week old german shepherd/malinois mix, run, sit around watching Family Guy or American Dad. This weekend we might be taking a ham radio class Saturday and Sunday if we can find someone to take care of the dogs. When it's warm, add camping to the list. Once a month, we meet for training with a search and rescue team we volunteer with. Our puppy is going to be trained in cadaver detection when she grows a bit. Neither of us are partiers.

I just remembered that tomorrow is Friday and got happy.
You guys live on base right? That must be nice being right near the ranges. We've got to drive about 45 minutes to get to ours. You aren't by chance working with CAP are you? I used to volunteer doing the same thing if that's what you're talking about. It was fun while it lasted.

RE: What do you do on your weekend off?
I'm still trying to figure out who I am and what I do when I have weekends. Since about late December, I've developed somewhat of a reputation as a partyer and player. So recently it's been: drink, go on dates, and occasionally go dancing with friends, and generally just go out and spend time with people. I try to set aside one day for myself to hit the gym, clean the house, maybe see my parents if something is going on. If I have NOTHING planned with people at all, then I catch up on TV, catch up on reading blogs and books, actually attend church, and maybe go dancing anyways.

I used to do CAP for a couple of years. Got out of it when I got busy with school/work. I mostly went to the weekly meetings. I had started training as an observer for air crew but didn't finish the requirements before I stopped going.

I will be working the next 10 Saturdays. What is 10 weeks from now? April 15th.

Any guesses on what I do for a living?

When I was in college, I tried some kool-aid, but I didn't like it, and I didn't swallow.

Only ones that I can play in 10 minute increments. See also: young children.

My wife crashes on weekends to try to catch up on the sleep that she doesn't get during the week. That combined with a lack of funds generally means that I'm stuck at home all weekend trying to remember what exactly it was that I planned to do with my life.

RE: What do you do on your weekend off?
The last weekend I had off, I stayed up late, slept in, didn't fix food for anyone but myself, went shopping on Friday, college football game/tailgate on Saturday, flew home on Sunday. Visiting my big sister and her taking care of me was the absolute best weekend I've had in a long time.

I'm a stay-at-home mom. I don't get weekends off.

Normal weekends are getting up early with the boys so hubby can sleep in a bit on Saturday, being with kids while hubby does his work out, and the normal stuff you do with little kids. I love Monday mornings when everyone goes away and its just the cat and me.

RE: What do you do on your weekend off?
Weekends don't exist in my family. Saturday my husband connects with people that he didn't get to meet with during the week. We rarely schedule special church events on Sat., but the day often gets filled up anyway and he often has a meeting and prayer time with the leadership team on Sat. night. Sundays are busy, although once we canceled the PM service, we at least had that time together, but now he is working a second job to pay the bills so usually part of some of Sat. or Sun. he's at the job.

This fall I got the family involved in geocaching. All you need is a GPS and internet access (and if you want to TAKE swag, you have to have a little swag to leave in return). It's fun because there's a goal and a challenge but you also often end up at a park with scenery for me and my camera and playground equipment for the kids. I REALLY want us to bike together more as a family, but my bike's tire got ruined this past summer so we need to invest a little money before we can indulge in that pastime again. usually have Sunday PM together since

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

Amen, sister. My husband works 4 tens, so he has Fridays off. That's our day together. We used to clean our church, but now that we don't attend anymore, we work around the house, have lunch, nap together (or not nap) and generally just enjoy each other's company til its time to get the kids. If you're not much of a gamer and short on time, but need computer-type relaxation, I suggest http://www.bigfishgames.com. Hubby and I enjoy doing that together; he crochets while I work the mouse.

RE: What do you do on your weekend off?
My husband works every other weekend and this is his off weekend! Saturday going to try and attend an outdoor festival with shooting, fishing, and food trucks. Craving Korean tacos, so hope to get my fix this weekend. Saturday afternoon we are going to a birthday party to pick strawberries. Hope the rain stays away. Then Sunday going to the zoo to maybe do zip lines and feed a camel.

This is the first weekend in a long time that we actually have plans and will get out of the house for more than grocery shopping.

Are you talking about him actually knowing how to crochet or is that some part of one of the games you're playing? Having him crochet-trained would be an AWESOME picture to see! I'd tie all the wrong knots and just frustrate myself if I tried that.
