As soon as I get people I'll do that.

Do you think you could lend me some people and then have them call themselves?

Sorry. All I have are munchkins and circus freaks. You may have the World's Shortest Giant, or the Bearded Man.

I'll split the difference and take the Man with the World's Shortest Beard.

I'd like to take a moment now and apologize for being the reason nobody but you and I are still reading this thread. I tend to have the effect.

I'm proud to say I knew you when.

You've blossomed, my friend, into a beautiful flower. A manly flower. But still good smelling.

I fear I've said too much already. I'll have to settle for writing about you in my diary tonight.

Toodles,

DD

I am drinking wine and I nearly spit wine at my computer screen. Not okay!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting that link. I just read all 16 installments. His story is so eerily familiar that at first I thought I'd stumbled on my ex's blog; only the names and a few key details are different. My engagement also didn't work out, but it was the beginning of my escape from a religion of fear and guilt. Reading his account helped me understand what my poor ex endured, and his explanations for his ex-fiance's struggle helped me understand mine. Thanks again for posting.

I am truly glad you found it helpful. Lou's story helped me understand more thoroughly why patriarchal / courtship is sick and twisted. Some people at my SBC church have become enamored with the concept, and I have had some opportunity to debate the subject.
