I think I found a song that I hate more than Christmas Shoes. What is UP with depressing Christmas songs?? They should be illegal. In fact, it was one of the first songs I ever learned to play on the piano. Me, too! Mine was in John Thompson's "Teaching Little Fingers to Play", page 16. (I have that book in my piano bench waiting for when I'll get organized enough to start teaching my kids how to play.) "Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

RE: Christmas Songs...love or hate any?
@Perry, I was 8 years old in third grade when I started lessons. My book was the old one with only line drawings for pictures. Every time I passed a song, the teacher would let me color the picture in! I still remember, "Here we go. Up a row. To a birthday party." And "Dolly dear, Sandman's here; You will soon be sleeping" (the first two songs) and then both hands together: "Postman I'll be, when I grow tall. Letters I'll bring you in winter and fall." And I was SOOOO excited when I was able to play the Indian song near the end with the teacher's duet part thumping like a drum.
I've seen a newer edition of the book that has colored pictures and a few changes on the words of the songs. "Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

@PW I had the "new" version, with computer-made pictures and such. It was still a memorable book, and I remember the first song and the Indian song at the back too! I was 8 or 9 when I started lessons; I know it was after my dad started dating my stepmom because her daughter was taking lessons and I wanted to as well.

She looks amazing but does she REALLY have to dress skanky all the time? I'm really confused about the demographic this song is pandering to. Mariah is shakin her booty and rubbing her boobs, then we've got Justin Bieber. What? WHO are they trying to attract? "Funny, you're the broken one, but I'm the only one who needed saving." |
