Holy cow that phone interview....Sandusky makes me want to be sick. He denied or tried to explain away every eye witness account.

Can't watch the interview, but thanks for the links. I'm not surprised. Legally, it's his best option to deny everything, and it's also good strategy for the defense attorney to appear to trust their client. All about minimizing his consequences and improving the defense success rate. :vomit:

Maybe he believes he didn't do anything wrong. Maybe he believes he can intimidate the witnesses. Wonder what happened to Ray Gricar...

I wish people wouldn't ask silly questions like "Are you a pedophile?" Come on. If you're interviewing a master manipulator, push harder with your questions. (Maybe they did better in other parts; I didn't watch so who knows.)

Another board I frequent proposed some interesting ideas about Sandusky. One of which was that he's basically a sociopath who may thoroughly believe he didn't do anything wrong. Or that the "good" he was doing through Second Mile cancelled out the harm he was doing to individual boys.

The whole thing is just...sick. I hope justice is served and that his victims can find peace and healing.

No...sociopaths know what right and wrong is. They simply don't care and don't feel that those standards apply to themselves. From what I have read he's your average pedophile. Nothing special about that! It's very common for pedophiles to believe that their sexual activities aren't harmful to children.

Costas did a good job for someone used to interviewing people because they won a gold medal. That's a lot different from interviewing a guy charged with a heinous crime. The part that made our mouths drop open when it was on CNN while we ate breakfast this morning was when he asked him if he is sexually attracted to children. The answer was so weird. As my husband said, a normal person says "NO". End of discussion. Transcript:

BOB COSTAS:
Are you sexually attracted to young boys, to underage boys?

JERRY SANDUSKY:
Am I sexually attracted to underage boys?

BOB COSTAS:
Yes.

JERRY SANDUSKY:
Sexually attracted, you know, I enjoy young people. I love to be around them. But no I'm not sexually attracted to young boys.

And the tone was so...hesitant or something. Odd pauses. Like he didn't know how to answer the question. Creepy.

He was far too hesistant with his answers in my opinion. I don't think he's innocent, but nonetheless, he seemed to be dodging every question.
