In reality it probably has more to do with the economy than it does relevancy. These look like cost saving measures. Sounds like he's creating a logistical nightmare.
Pastors, moms and teens are all going to go to a conference during the same time? Who's going to stay behind to keep things running? First casualty will be the women. |

My past history in Hyles churches indicates that the staff will probably rotate on this, some will go one time and others will go the next... The less indoctrination this church takes part of, the better. Besides, most people think this monster conference won't even happen. Definitely finances.

AFAIR, Pastor's School was abandoned once for several years, and then Schaap resurrected it. He had to know that it was not a big moneymaker. I'm hoping that the publicity given to the ever rising number of HAC pastors facing criminal charges, as well as to Schaap's bad doctrine and coarse conduct, has irreversibly diminished their cash flow. I think it is really more about Schaap failing the KJVO "inspired" litmus test. The inspired vs. preserved debate is splitting the IFBx apart. But the good news is Schaap's popularity has waned. Crazy man that he is. |

Oh, so KJBO v. KJV Preferred isn't enough to fight over now? I guess all these upstart colleges have to find some way to distinguish themselves from HAC and PCC. |

The inspired vs. preserved debate is splitting the IFBx apart. Nope! There is definately more for the fundies to fight over! ![]() There are fundies who believe the original manuscripts were inspired, and that they are now preserved in the KJV. These KJVO's would deny other versions are the perserved Word of God. Then there are those who believe God directly inspired the KJV as well as the original manuscripts - while attempting to deny this is double-inspiration. This group has a lot of distain for the "KJV is preserved but not inspired" group. Read this quote attributed to Sam "Bull" Gipp I found on that crazy "jesus-is-savior" website: Dr. Samuel Gipp states in favor of the King James Bible being inspired . . . QUESTION: Did the translators of the Authorized Version claim to be inspired by God? ANSWER: No. But Biblically that does not mean that they could not have been inspired. [emphasis added] Does this mean that, because they did not claim God's hand in translating the Scripture that He could not be or was not in control of their commission? For the answer we must look to the Bible, our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. When John the Baptist was accosted by the Levites in John chapter one and asked if he was Elijah (John 1:21) he answered that he was not Elijah. Yet in Matthew chapters 11:7-14 and 17:10-13 Jesus Christ plainly stated that John was Elijah. Did John the Baptist lie? No. Did Jesus Christ lie? Of course not. The answer is very simply that John was Elijah but he didn't know it! Thus we see from our Bible example that a man can have God working through him and not know it. Likewise, God could easily have divinely directed the King James translators without their active knowledge. SOURCE: THE ANSWER BOOK, chapter 14, by Dr. Samuel C. Gipp, Th.D. |
