I have no problem with those kids, their parents, their pastors, etc. thinking homosexuality is wrong. I disagree with their interpretation of the "clobber" passages and I think their worldview is a bit stilted, but I will allow them the same grace to believe that as I have to disagree with them. However, the behavior of the students who left, combined with the quotations in the article, are giving Christianity more of the anti-testimony it already has in the LGBT community. And THAT is wrong. You might think that LGBT people are sinning, and maybe that their sin is worse than yours, but that doesn't mean that God doesn't love them and that doesn't erase the obvious issue of bullying of LGBT teens, bullying and teasing that has quite often led to suicide.

I'm new around here so maybe this topic has been hashed to death and I've not had the time to read the archives...but how do you know they have it right? With all the things in the bible that can be interpreted in different ways, why is it that the verses that are considered to be on homosexuality are the only ones that are 100% clear and literal?

Oh lordy. So much to snark over...

The gay "lifestyle" argument? Greg, are you saying that gay people are like a separate species? I really doubt Greg actually knows any gay people and the ones who he does know probably hide a lot from him just to get him to STFU.

As for scripture, everything can be debated. You can't say one passage is 100% clear and that another passage needs context and interpretation. It's either all or nothing. Using the Sodom story is really thin ice. Rape is about domination and in a tribal and desert culture, guests are sacrosanct. Pedophiles that rape same sex children aren't homosexual.

Then there is the whole they can change with proper therapy. I think that's been thoroughly debunked more than once here.

Greg, you want to have your cake and eat it too and unless I'm gonna get banned for this, each and every time I see you trot out the conversion and lifestyle argument I will respond as such:
