RE: Christian?
"Unsure" would be closer, but I don't feel as if I can label myself as a believing Christian right now. If once-saved-always-saved is true, then yeah I'm a "christian", but as part of a jury determining the validity of the religion I would have to say I have a "reasonable doubt".

This is where I'm at, too... I'd consider myself an "agnostic Christian." "For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone." ~ St. Paul |

Also, I think this is a bit of a different question than whether people believe the Bible to be the only true religious text. I imagine there are Christians here who see much more metaphor in the Bible than others, and who don't rule out finding truth in other religions, not to mention all the undecideds who feel the same way. “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. I'm sure. I figured this was the first place to start. We can parse out the other alternatives in the next polls.

Even though I am a firm believer that the Christian Bible is the "one true holy text", I believe that there is truth and wisdom to be found in the texts of other religions. It's the difference between "truth" and "Truth". The thing is, if you are a Christian, your faith is not in a book, but in the person of Jesus Christ. In His incarnation, death, burial, and resurection. There is only one book that tells this story. |

RE: Christian?
Yes, I call myself a Christian. I like the United Church of Canada's Creed:
We are not alone, we live in God's world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God's presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us. |

RE: Christian?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo. We were once so close to Heaven, Peter came out and gave us medals, declaring us "The Nicest of the Damned." TMBG |
