Update on Chuck Baldwin in Montana

Speaking to a “standing-room-only” crowd in Kalispell Tuesday night, [Baldwin] told the crowd, “This battle is for the survival of the freedoms of our children. If we do not engage the enemy, our children and grandchildren will grow up and curse our memory”.

Baldwin led the Crossroad Baptist Church in Florida for 35 years before moving to Montana last year to lead a new make-believe revolution with Montana as the “tip of the spear”. The speech was liberally laced with conspiracy jargon and references to the tyrannical government. “Our days in which we live today are tantamount to the days of 1775 and 1776″. His hate-filled, paranoid rants rattle off the dangers of living in the end times and use all the right menacing buzz words.

"Ladies and gentlemen, America is in the throes of socialist and Marxist political upheaval. The curtain could fall at any time."

"As surely as William Barret Travis drew a line in the sand at the Alamo, a line is being drawn in the hearts of men today. By the time it is over, every man and woman in America will have to choose which side of the line they are on. Neutrality will not be an option."

"The federal government has become a monstrous leech that has affixed itself to the underbelly of the American republic and is sucking its lifeblood out with a vengeance. It has increased its surveillance of the American citizenry to the point that–for all intents and purposes–we now live in a Soviet-style, East Bloc society…"

So much for reasoned and civil discussion of rational solutions. Arm yourselves and stand at the “tip of the spear”. Is it any wonder that talk like this can tip some crazy person over the edge? If your very family and way of life is in mortal and imminent danger, you must act. What do you have to lose? This is exactly the kind of hate-filled rhetoric that fuels anger at government and at your own friends and neighbors and gets innocent people killed.

This man's "FREEDOM" is another man's theocracy.
