Another Fundy Pastor caught

The picture of him and his family shows that he had an amazing family, at least from the appearance of it. He has two grown sons and two grown daughters. What a horrible loss for them! What a terrible example he just set for dealing with embarrassing sin situations.

His profile says he formerly worked in the criminal justice system.

I think he knew likely knew what was coming next as far as arrests, media, and jail time and he took the cowards way out.

The suicide of a parent must be so devastating. What a tragedy for a family to have to endure; not only a humiliating scandal, but a tragic death on top of it. I'll be remembering the family in prayer.

My guess is that his state of mind didn't get suicidal until he knew he was caught. And then it happened within minutes.

MSNBC reported earlier that the suicide occurred with the police outside of the church. Apparently, plainclothes detectives knocked on the door of the church, advised him they had a search warrant for the computer in his study, and then he slammed the door, ran to his office, and shot himself while they were outside. It appears that this was the first he became aware that there was an investigation occurring. Apparently, they didn't even say specifically what the warrant was for (e.g. the chat room incident), just that they had a warrant to seize his computer.

Sounds like as much evidence of guilt as one can get short of an actual confession.

Interesting. The Boy Scouts just instituted a policy that an adult Scout leader cannot correspond privately online with an under 18 year old Scout without copying another adult on the correspondence. If caught they are booted from a leadership position. I just heard that and came here and read this...

I think the fact that they can do this for years is just a simple indication that they are not truly converted.
Well, that and the fact that they can cover up the crimes of others, or hold molested young adults guilty of "sin", or the fact they circle the wagons when a spot light is shown on them, or how they focus on faults of others AND ONLY PAY LIP SERVICE TO JESUS!!!, and.......

This is very sad. Its a great shame. My prayers are with these people that were affected by the incident.
