RE: PCC gets a new campus pastor
Translation of Dr. Arlin Hortons official announcement to the Campus Church Wrote:For two years, we've been desperate to find a good PR man to stand behind the pulpit and dish out propaganda to the students. Several pastors came to preach and to see if they would fit that position but all have run and hid. In late spring, I heard that Mr. McBride was thinking of finding another job. In talking over his failed attempt at assistant chaplain at PCC with Beka, I learned he had been ordained into the Gospel ministry at a Baptist church in Virginia and had served as youth pastor for seven years before coming to work here 25 years ago and completely forgetting Baptist polity.

Last fall, he told his wife that he believed the Lord was calling him into the pastorate. He has been a favorite Sunday school teacher and has an excellent speaking ability, plus he listens well and doesn't talk back. I told him to assume the responsibility of serving as front man for the Campus Church, and Beka told him it was God's direct will for him to accept.

Therefore, I am pleased to introduce Denis McBride as the new pastor of the Campus Church!

RE: PCC gets a new campus pastor
Dear PCC Alumnus,

We knew you would want to be aware of the announcement made by Dr. Horton in the Sunday evening service of the Campus Church on August 14:

For two years, we’ve sought the Lord as to God’s choice of a pastor for the Campus Church. Several pastors came to preach and to see if they would fit that position. In late spring, I heard that Mr. McBride might be available. In talking with him, I learned he had been ordained into the Gospel ministry at a Baptist church in Virginia and had served as youth pastor for seven years before coming to teach in this ministry twenty-five years ago.

Last fall, he told his wife that he believed the Lord was calling him into the pastorate. He has been a favorite Sunday school teacher and has an excellent speaking ability, plus a genuine love for people and a heart for students. He was recently given the opportunity to assume the responsibility of pastoring the Campus Church, and God has now confirmed to him that it is God’s direct will for him to accept. Therefore, I am pleased to introduce Denis McBride as the new pastor of the Campus Church.

We’ve had a great church staff assisting Dr. Mullenix in the various church areas during these past two years:

Mr. Allen Chace - Assistant Pastor and Church Administrator

Dr. Don Smith - Church Counselor

Mr. Tim Hall - Church Coordinator

Mr. Russell Baker - Visitation Director

Mr. Mike Willard - Youth Director

Dr. Mullenix has done an excellent job as Interim Pastor of the Campus Church these past two years. He has taught the scriptures with Spirit-filled messages and has remained a favorite with the Rejoice television viewers. In fact, we’ve had more letters from the TV audience expressing their appreciation for his excellent teaching than all three previous pastors combined. He truly has an excellent following. Therefore, he will remain Vice President and Executive Assistant to the President, along with the official title of Pastor of Rejoice TV. He will continue to speak once a week around Pastor McBride’s schedule. This will help Pastor McBride, as his preparation load will not be as extensive.

Thank you for praying with us for the Lord’s direction. We are blessed to have alumni standing behind PCC in prayer.

Director of Alumni Affairs

Darrell,

You are still on the alumnus mailing list? You get the PCC update? I think some standards have lowered a LONG way if they are letting a vocal critic on the mailing list! Smile

RE: PCC gets a new campus pastor
No, I don't get any communications from PCC.

But I do have friends who still do.
