I just want to say that last night's Rammstein concert was AWESOME!
As I was waiting in line with my ticket, there were a small group of people (fundies of some kind) holding picket signs and preaching against the evils of tattoos and piercings and music. Considering this was a metal concert, I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish. Did they expect some tattooed, pierced soul to step out of the line, rip up their $60 ticket, and leave? Because some freak telling you that God hates you is going to go over well.
Rammstein put on a spectacular, over-the-top, wild performance, as they generally do. I was standing right close to the front, and I have quite a few aches and bruises to show for it.

They told us we were secretly miserable and that we were dressing up in bizarre costumes and going to concerts like this to cover our misery. Sure didn't look miserable to me.
I've been happier in my 16 months out of fundyland than I was the whole time I was in it.

Not to be too sacrilegious, but better is 1 day away from those nutcases than any number with them. I, myself, would be happier sitting in a week long marathon of Miley Cyrus than I would be in even an IFB potluck/potgrace.

It's crazy what they tell you to try to get you to stay. I heard stories of people driving off bridges as they drove away from leaving a Bible college. They don't want people to know what it feels like to be free, because then they won't look at fundyland the same ever again.

Amen. We want no appearance of evil or non reliance on God. People who call it a pot providence seem to be the same people who Jesus juke a lot...........

I'm typically more of a rock/punk/mild scream fan, but occasionally I enjoy things like this. The hip-hop/r&b/"young people's" music. =)
