42 years ago today - co_heir - 05-04-2012 11:15 AM Anyone here remember Kent State? It was one of the things that began to turn me from a Carl McIntire fan fundy as a ninth grader to a pot smoking hippie in high school to someone who doesn't put much hope in politics at all. RE: 42 years ago today - laurat99 - 05-04-2012 01:25 PM Such a turbulent time in our country's history. I was too young to remember, but like PW, remember the pictures. RE: 42 years ago today - bean - 05-04-2012 08:57 PM too young but have studiedit in depth. i teach history and we do a 60s/70s /vietnam unit....haunting pictures...so sad.... RE: 42 years ago today - co_heir - 05-04-2012 09:34 PM It was a sad time. I think that year went a long way in turning more Americans against the war in Vietnam, and was one factor in Jimmy Carter being elected president 6 years later. |
