SotL recent article - Easterlily241 - 04-09-2012 11:32 AM I need a little help! My grandma mentioned an article in the SotL newspaper about Pepsi using embryos. It must have been pretty recent. Anyone know where to find that? Anyone still subscribe to it? (BAHAHA) RE: SotL recent article - exOBCstudent - 04-09-2012 11:41 AM Lol that sounds like something they might put in the paper. ![]() I haven't seen it or heard about that specific article though. RE: SotL recent article - C_Fresh - 04-09-2012 12:09 PM I think that story was going around other places as well. No idea about the SotL article though. RE: SotL recent article - boymom - 04-09-2012 12:16 PM I'm guessing this is what she is referring to: http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pro-life-groups-call-for-pepsi-boycott-over-aborted-fetal-cell-lines/ RE: SotL recent article - Easterlily241 - 04-09-2012 03:13 PM (04-09-2012 12:16 PM)boymom Wrote: I'm guessing this is what she is referring to: http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pro-life-groups-call-for-pepsi-boycott-over-aborted-fetal-cell-lines/ Yes, that's the one. Just wanted to see their spin on it. RE: SotL recent article - lucrezaborgia - 04-09-2012 11:49 PM I'm sure Pepsico will cry all the way to the bank over this. Just like Nestle and the boycot against them for how they produce and market formula. RE: SotL recent article - TonyT - 04-10-2012 01:49 AM A brief examination of this article: The first, and most glaring problem, is that nowhere does it say how anyone knows this company is using "HEK 239." Where did they get that information? It doesn't say anywhere how anyone knows any of this is true. The entire article is based on the assertion of one group, CGL. LifeSite cites them often, but at no time cites where CGL got their info- in fact, no where does the article indicate they even asked about it. --- "The aborted fetal cells are not in the product itself. However, “there are many options PepsiCo could be using instead of aborted fetal cells,” noted Vinnedge." Wait, so the cells aren't in Pepsi, but there are other options pespi could be using instead of aborted fetal cells? This phrase makes no sense. I would also point out that it clearly states aborted fetal cells aren't in pepsi. But when you go to the source, CGL, read their statement, the headline is: Obama agency rules PepsiCo cannibalizing aborted fetus is “ordinary business” http://www.cogforlife.org/pepsiSEC.pdf --- The article is based on the assertions of one group. But when I looked at a previous article on this subject from life site, i found this: "Note: This article originally stated, based on information provided by CGL, that Solae and Campbell soup were also partnered with Senomyx. However, LSN has since learned that while both companies were in the past partnered with Senomyx, they no longer have a relationship with the company." So, that one group got it wrong, life site threw them under the bus, but still uses them as their sole source for information in their next article? RE: SotL recent article - myotch - 04-10-2012 03:36 AM Soylent Green Pepsi Max is my favorite. RE: SotL recent article - Tikatu - 04-10-2012 07:35 AM Snopes is your friend. Obviously they don't think so. Pepsi/Senomyx |
