"In Search of Reason" - greg - 01-07-2012 12:23 PM

Thought I would share this video of my son's band. They just uploaded it up last night. This is from a live show they did in Richmond last week. I'm not crazy about the music, but they are good at it.

Warning: PW I know you are beginning to explore CCM, but this is somewhat harder. Smile

My son is the bass player/clean vocals and does a small singing part in this video.

Now here's for all of you that think I'm still a fundy. ENJOY!!!

That's awesome, Greg! I'm glad he is enjoying his music and using it to praise God.

Not quite my cup of tea but then I'm an old fuddy-duddy! lol

Watched this and all the other videos the group had on youtube. I liked the music, vocals were muddy so I only caught a few words here and there. I'm curious how they can sing like that without totally shredding their vocal cords.

Was that the Chesapeake Bay Bridge they were crossing in the one video? It looked familiar.

I don't know how the "screamer" can maintain his voice either. As far as the bridge I'm not sure, I haven't seen all their stuff. Most of what has been posted is super poor quality, but this had abit better sound, especially if you have some pretty good speakers, so thought I'd post it.

Thanks PW. I have a great relationship with my son, he realizes that this music genre is not widely accepted/liked. He enjoys all types of music and can play almost any instrument, also writes some of the band's music. All of these guys are fine young men, they have had quite an impact on their friends and have seen quite a few souls for their efforts. They come to me very often with some very interesting/tough bible questions, college in the fall will probably break up this group, which is fine by me, I might be an old fuddy-duddy too!!!

My son just came in, and I asked him about the bridge, it was them, but I didn't let my son go on that trip.

Hey, this is Taylor Gregs son (the one with long hair). I appreciate it! ABR is one of our biggest influences, we're actually playing with A Plea for Purging this month. Anywho.. You can pick up our "Common Lies Of The Deceiver" E.P. on itunes for like 4 bucks or something if you'd like. Like us on Facebook! Thanks again! Big Grin

Greg, I went to the Rock and Worship Roadshow and heard a couple bands that weren't really my cup of tea. One was Disciple. The whole first song they did they just screamed, and I couldn't understand a single word, but when the lead singer talked between songs, what he was sharing was good and Gospel-based. I did like "You Don't Own Me" although I had to look up the lyrics after I got home to understand what the song was talking about, and once I heard it again on youtube, it really grew on me. Another group was Hawk Nelson. Then Lecrae with hip hop, so it was a good time for expanding my exposure to different types of music. The night ended with Tenth Ave. North and Mercy Me, which I must admit, I still prefer! But it's cool to know that we can praise God in many styles and in different ways.
