RE: Fundybook - Faith - 03-18-2011 06:47 PM

In my high-school days, during a numerology-heavy sermon series on Revelation I figured out how to make "666" out of the church's street address, 333 75th St. 333(7-5)=666!

This 666 talk reminds me of a Facebook post that my Fundy church made when it got 666 fans, begging people to suggest it to their friends so it wouldn't have that number any more. I may have taken a screenshot of it, but it was on a different computer.

I went to a thrift shop one time and my total was 6.66. The man behind me said I needed to buy something else or give the lady a penny so I wouldn't have those numbers on my bank statement. I told him that it was okay, thanks but I wasn't afraid of those numbers and he reached around and gave a penny to the cashier who took it before I could protest. The cashier told me I needed to respect those numbers. The guy behind me said he wanted to take the whammy off of me. Huh

were you in the Bible belt at the time?

I just can't imagine this happening in NY.

My mother FREAKED anytime the number 666 came up. Not just an oh no, let me add something on- that might be a tad sane. No, she preached and raised a huge snit fit about it. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THOSE NUMBERS MEAN!!?!?!?!eleventy!!!!???? She would screech to some poor cashieer.

Thing was, my mother was not the least bit 'fundy'. She had some bastardized beliefs that was 'christian' and 'wiccan/pagan' though if one tried to point out the pagan/Wiccan part she would throw a fit that her beliefs were CHRISTIAN *eyeroll*

I remember at my Fundy U one of my acquaintances had mailbox number 666. Her mom asked the school if she could get it changed.

They said no.

According to some sources that verse in Revelation isn't really 666 but rather 610 or some other number. I'll try and find some sources.

I just know it hasn't bothered me in years. The Catholics are pretty laid back about the end times. We believe in the Second Coming but that's about it.Wink

it's one source. A scrap of a single papyrus. And that's it. Picture below.
