A Pause for Rest, A Rest For Paws

As I do from time to time, I’m taking a few days off from blogging to rest and recuperate. At least that’s the plan. I’m somewhat addicted to this place so letting it sit idle is a challenge even when doing so is for my own sanity.

In the meantime, I will still be putting up a little new content on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ so be sure to follow and subscribe if you haven’t already.

See you all in a few!

    1. I have nothing constructive to say, except enjoy your rest (which you won’t see until after its actually over). ^_^ I’m just never going to have the chance to be first ever ever ever again. πŸ˜›

  1. Have a good rest Darrell. You chose a good time for me as well, I’m behind on everything since we were gone a couple days last week.

  2. “I will still be putting up a little new content on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ …”

    Hah! Some rest!
Look up “busman’s holiday” in the dictionary.

    1. No fair, I’m not on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+…. πŸ˜›

  3. “I love this little house because
    It offers after dark,
A pause for rest, a rest for paws,
A place to moor my bark.”

I remember that little poem from one of my ABeka textbooks, I think! I think it was “Motto for a Doghouse”.

I do hope you get some much-needed rest! Unfortunately, I’m an old fogey and don’t tweet or google and wouldn’t FB mean I’d have to interact under my real name? I guess I can always lurk!

    1. I used Abeka book DVDs for homeschooling for about three years. I changed after grade three b/c I didn’t like they way it progressed. Not only that, but the Kindergarten teacher acted like a Nazi. Even my kids could see how mean she looked. Abeka changed the K5 teacher but I still didn’t like it. The DVDs are a ripoff @ 1,000 bucks a year and I didn’t even get to keep them. They helped though b/c I had one in K5 and two in diapers. We were also starting our own real estate business so it freed me up for other stuff. I still have all of the phonics readers and my youngest still pulls them off of the shelf from time to time.

I now use Saxon Math, Sing Spell Read Write and Beautiful Feet Books…etc. I like the Charlotte Mason gentle approach to learning and motherhood. Like Proverbs 31 says…in her tongue, is the law of kindness.

  4. Slacker. πŸ˜†

Seriously Darrell – take the time off and rest up and enjoy. We’ll try to behave when you are gone.

  5. Good idea Darrell! I don’t know how you have kept up with the daily blog AND forum as well as you have already done. I’d go insane too if I didn’t pry myself from the computer. πŸ˜†

Get out and have some fun and enjoy your R&R. πŸ™‚

  6. Go have fun and enjoy the start of summer! I hope and pray your wife is doing good.

We’ll try not to make too much of a mess while you’re gone! πŸ˜€

  7. I think you need to seriously consider the spiritual state of your heart. Did Jesus ever take a break? No! Did Moses? No!
You should be working for the night is coming! Would you want to be found on vacation if you knew that the Second Comingβ„’ were this week?

I know that I will be requesting prayer for you. I plan to call everyone I know and request prayer.

    Seriously though, enjoy your break.

  8. GET BACK TO WORK….
    YOU’VE NOT SUFFERED ENOUGH YET!
    😯
LOOK AFTER YOURSELF AND ENJOY YOUR TIME AWAY!

  9. Is this our cue to break out the Gaither music, culottes, and orange kool-aid, and party like it’s the National Sword Conference? πŸ˜€

  10. COOL!! I didn’t miss anything. I’ve been in the North Georgia mountains camping and enjoying poor cell coverage withno internet. I actually wondered what conversations I was missing on SFL.

I hope you are well rested, Dar-El.

    1. Last time I went out of town, Darrell decided to hold Fundy Sex Week.

Nothing like that going on this time though.
